GLENESK SCHOOL ETHOS

Glenesk is a co-educational pre-preparatory school accepting children from 2-7+years and our education is broadly based on Christian values.

 We aim to create a secure, purposeful and caring school which is an exciting environment for today’s children and yet provides a sound preparation for the future.  In this environment the children may happily absorb attitudes and standards of behaviour; they will obtain a degree of self awareness and confidence and develop an enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning.

 In accordance with the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda Glenesk considers it must continually adjust and develop in order to prepare children for the next stage of their education, whether within the independent or maintained sector.  We believe in giving every child the care, attention and support necessary in order for them to do this.  Every child is an individual and as such we aim to develop their talents whether they are academic, creative, social or sporting.

 We aim to develop an environment in which thoughtfulness and respect for others plays an important part.  We would expect children to learn to appreciate others and their belongings.  In this atmosphere children are taught the importance of obeying instructions for their own safety and the well-being of others.

 Sport and recreation also play a vital part in each school day; all children are provided with safe facilities for play and to participate in structured games and swimming suitable for their age. 

 Glenesk is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle, which includes a balanced diet. All catering for children is prepared in-house by a qualified nutritionist and is totally organic.
