Nursery 2-3 years
Glenesk Nursery is a friendly, family orientated environment where children from the age of two are welcomed. The nursery offers a wonderful open plan layout, which encourages free flow play and provides the perfect setting for developing your toddlers natural instinct to play and learn. We also have a lovely, secure outdoor play area with climbing frames and sand and water play which we use on a daily basis. Our small class sizes and high staff ratios ensure that your son or daughter will receive the individual attention and support that they need at such a crucial time in their development. Lunch can be provided and our qualified nutritionist prepares fresh and healthy meals on site. We offer morning, afternoon or full day sessions and flexible wraparound care from 7.45am-6.00pm.
Rising Reception 3-4 years
Rising Reception provides the perfect bridge from Nursery to full-time school. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) focusing on stimulating your child’s development through communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. Themed afternoon sessions, such as swimming, cookery and woodland activities offer every child the chance to further develop their skills whilst enjoying stimulating activities. Your child may attend full-time school in Rising Reception or our minimum sessions required are four morning sessions during their Autumn term gradually increasing before they start full time school. Lunches and extra sessions may be added during the term.
Reception 4-5 years
Your child’s happiness and success is at the heart of everything we do here at Glenesk. The formal start to their full-time education begins in Reception supported by small class sizes and plenty of individual teacher attention. We put strong emphasis on traditional values such as good manners, respect for others and individual responsibility. In Reception, we continue to build your child’s academic foundations by following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and we will provide your child with exceptional teaching, small class sizes and superb pastoral care. 88.9% of our pupils at the end of their Reception year are performing at expected or exceeding national averages.
