Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-Curricular Activities

We aim to provide a wealth of opportunities to complement, extend and enrich those already offered by the school curriculum.

Extra-curricular activities at Glenesk School will enrich your child’s life and help them to develop key skills in areas such as creativity, self-discipline, leadership and team-work.

We particularly focus on the creative arts through dance, drama and art, all of which we incorporate into the curriculum, but offer additional opportunities to extend this outside of classes. Years 1 and 2 learn to play recorders in their music lessons and individual woodwind, piano and voice lessons are available. We hold frequent concerts and plays are performed on the large stage in the main hall. Other after school activities include a range of clubs such as dance, cookery, forest school, football, tag rugby, judo and water-polo.

We also enrich the curriculum with a wide range of whole school activities and regular visits to places of educational interest, such as the British Wildlife Centre, Blue Reef Aquarium and Brooklands Museum.

Extra-Curricular Activities

“Extra-curricular activities are wide ranging and varied. They include a high take- up for sports, music and art, dance and drama as well as other whole-school enrichment activities such as the Rainforest Roadshow and a Superhero day.”
